FAQ

  • Where is your office located?

    5583 W Waterford Lane

    Suite G

    Appleton, WI 54913

My office faces Waterford. FYI both sides of the street are odd numbers. I’m on the south side. I have my logo both on the building and on the door entering my suite. When you come through this door, you are in the waiting area. Have a seat; when I’m ready, I will grab you.

  • How do I set up an initial appointment?

Please contact me, so we can find a time that fits our schedules. You can contact me via phone at (920) 277-6738 or email at rootsofhealinginwi@gmail.com.

  • Do you take insurance?

I do take insurance, but not all plans. Please contact me to find out if I’m on your insurance as an in-network provider. If I’m not on your plan, I do accept HSA. If you don’t have insurance, I do take private-pay clients.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel less then one day prior, you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $50.

  • What is your age range?

I work with teens and adults.

  • What do you do in sessions?

Each client is unique. How the sessions will go depends upon what services you need. No matter what the service is, we discuss what the issues are and how you want to address them. That’s why I like an integrative approach, as I can tailor sessions to the individual client.

  • How long are your sessions?

Depending on if you are utilizing insurance and what the insurance allows, 45-60 minutes is the average appointment length.

  • What is your professional training and experience?

Counseling degree is an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). I have a Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition.

I have also obtained certifications/am certified in many areas including Integrative Medicine Mental Health

Practitioner, NES Health Bioenergetic Pracitioner, Clinical Aromatherapist, and as a Wellness Coach.

Additionally, I obtained extensive training in Gottman Couples therapy, EMDR, aromatherapy, energy psychology.

  • Do you have food and drinks available?

I feel it’s important to have some food and drinks available ‘cause sometimes you as the client are coming straight from work or an appointment.

We can’t focus when we are hungry or tired, so I have coffee, tea, water, flavored seltzer water, juice, cheese, nuts, and sometimes fruit!!

  • What type of furniture do you have for sessions?

I really tried to think about furniture and décor based on my past clients’ needs.

I went with comfort for furniture relating to clients with pain and physical limitations. I have an electric reclining couch, so you can be comfortable during session. So if you are shorter or have physical limitations, you can still sit comfortably.

If you struggle getting in and out of couches, this couch you shouldn’t struggle with, as it’s supportive yet VERY comfortable.

  • Is your office wheelchair friendly?

Yes, there are absolutely no steps from the parking lot to my door. The bathrooms are handicap accessible, and my office door is wide enough for a standard wheelchair.

  • Do you do AODA counseling?

No. I’m not certified for AODA counseling.

  • What is bioenergetics?

Bioenergetics entails a scan of the human body field, identifying energy levels in over 140 different areas relating to both physical and emotional energy. Through using infoceuticals and the miHealth device, we can reset energy pathways. The system I use is NES Health.

  • What is energy psychology?

Energy psychology entails muscle testing and tapping to release trapped negative emotions.

  • How do nutrition and nutrients really tie in to mental health?

They play a big part in mental health. Your mood is determined through neurotransmitters, and the only way neurotransmitters can work is through a variety of amino acids, vitamins and minerals. You need to gain these nutrients through food and supplementation.

Your digestive system plays a huge part in your mental health, too. If you can’t break down and/or absorb nutrients, your brain can’t receive the nutrients it needs to function. So, nutrition, nutrients, and even your digestive health are huge players in your mental health.

  • Do you do just counseling, like sitting on the couch talking and learning coping skills?

Yes, we can do just counseling to process through issues you are struggling with and incorporate some coping skills, too. If at any time you want to add in the integrative approach, we can do that – but it is not a requirement.

  • Why do you do an integrative approach?

I utilize an integrative approach because our emotional health connects to our physical health. The studies show more and more how physical health issues can be addressed by addressing those messy, disruptive emotions.
